The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to play music only for pleasure or as a means of development but instead, she must take it seriously. Thus, she began writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs can not only aid in her efforts to achieve fame but also make others see their importance to the world and appreciate the possibilities for the songs and her music, she was inspired to start playing in front of the public. As a young girl She began playing the piano and at nine, started writing songs. Her family didn't be aware until fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never her dream. According to her, she simply likes to write songs. For her, the music she composes is the way that she feels everything.
